He graduated from V.S.S. Medical College, Burla. He has received his Postgraduation in General Surgery from S.C.B. Medical College, Cuttack. He completed his superspecialisation in Cardiovascualr & Thoracic Surgery from the prestigious Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences & Technology, Trivandrum. He was awarded Fellowship in Adult Cardiac Surgery from Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, USA.
